Damn, Speed limit is 85 in Texas for real?? 70 here is the max.
      Hardryder56
There is a toll road from Austin area up towards Dallas that is 85 mph and I think I-10 west of San Antonio is 85mph, tickets at 95 or so
      Katfish
85 mph only applicable in very limited lanes folks................extreme western portions of I-10 & southern portions of TX130 toll road that skirts eastern Austin from Georgetown down to I-10 near Seguin
      Katfish
most of my runs Denver to Hou or vice versa took 22 - 24 hours back in the day
      CycleMadness
I don't see why the speed limit on main roads like I95 and I75 here in FL don't have it up to 85. Hell, most do that anyway.
      Katfish
NO other 85mph areas elsewhere that I'm aware of
      Hardryder56
I rode from Jacksonville, N.C. to El Paso TX back in Nov 1979 at 55 mph and it took all of a week. That ride SUCKED at times
      Hardryder56
CM look at who drives on those roads, yankees and 'near deads'
      CycleMadness
Hahaha. Yeah, that's me going back and forth from New Hampshire to FL way back when. at 55 it took me, Well best time for me was 27 hours. That's pretty much straight thru.
      CycleMadness
      Hey. I'm a Yank. Lol...
      CycleMadness
Well was... Been here 30 years.
      Hardryder56
LOL well I was talking them new yark city folks LOL
      Katfish
I do recall the "55 era"      we RARELY paid much heed to that "speed suggestion"!! LMAO
      CycleMadness

      CycleMadness

      Hardryder56
Katfish, I had a 1976 Kewi 650 4 that earned me more speeding tickets in N.C. in the 8 months I owned it then I have gotten in the rest of the 40+ years I have been riding because N.C. enforced the 55 rule HARD
      Katfish
Oh it WAS enforced in Texas trust me (if they could CATCH us!)
      CycleMadness
